The location is fantastic, associated with the natural charm of a hotel with only eight rooms, which are distributed in two towers turned our stay there into a dream.
Location is ok, but the view and hotel itself is great!!! Great retreat within the Malaga city limits.
There is no dining facility on premises and there are only couple of restaurants in the area that you can walk to, otherwise you need a taxi.
Stunning - loads of historical charm - definately a romantic getaway. Close to the beach - 15 min walk but in lovely area so feels like 2 mins! 6/7 euros to Malaga centre.Rooms are full of character and so quaint - you won't be dissapointed! The views are like never seen before - stayed in room no. 6 and the watched the moons reflection over the sea while enjoying a cool glass of tasty cava every evening.
With a room at Castillo de Santa Catalina, just 2 minutes outside of Malaga centro with car (about 25 minutes on foot!) you have everything: a large beach in walking distance, Malaga centro very close to you to explore the city (free parking at the hotel, at the city the parking costs about 1.5-2.0 euro per hour), excellent staff (Pepe is the best receptionist we ever met...!), perfect view to the city and the beach (I just hope I could upload photos with this comment!!!!), a lot of places to relax (balcony, a lot of terraces with perfect view and flowers) and some surprises... Firstly, during our stay we had the opportunity to see a Spanish wedding which was also the reason for a free bottle of Champagne in our room and plus a discount in room price!!!! Secondly, when we were leaving, there was a great flamenco show that we saw (of course it was free...). This castle is perfect, try it...
Only one bad thing to mention... We stayed at the room that I think has the better view of all (room bellavista, number 7) but if you are older you may have problem with the suitcase because there is not an elevator exactly to the room.. There are enough stairs to climb (not a problem for me but could be a problem for someone else...). That's all!
Nice luxuriuous hotel with a view and well kept patio and gardens. Very quiet environment but within 10 minutes by car you will be in the city center of Malaga.Nice terrace.
It would be nice to have a small pool allthough the sea is just a 5/10 minutes walk.
Great room size, good breakfast, comfy beds, great view, walk to beach and restuarants, walk to bus stop, cheap cab ride ($5) to the town centre
Fake flowers, fake books, fake furniture- fake is not classy it is tacky, get the real thing or not at all. Staff did not tell us about the bus situation or volunteer any info about malaga
lovely setting away from the town centre with views over the bay
we should have been told of weddings on our stay in the afternoon there was mess everywhere broken glass and dirty plates outside on the terrace, then we came back later to another wedding again with mess everywhere, the staff then began to clean up noisly until 3am which made me very grumpy in the morning
My stay was one of the nicest experiences I have had staying in a hotel especially Malaga. Total bliss!!!!!!
The decor was fantastic as were the rooms and the staff could not be more helpful.
A lovely spanish villa on a hill with large outdoor decks and expansive views. It was a treat! We had a tower room that didn't have the views but was very comfortable and well appointed. The staff were really helpful and even got up to fix us an early breakfast!
We found this hotel very charming, relaxing and with wonderful views overlooking the sea, it is in a very nice area, although not in the city centre, the centre was easy to get to. The staff were very friendly & helpful
The hotel is rather a spanish castle than a hotel and the atmosphere is incredible. On the hills above malage you live in a historical fortress with spacious rooms (all rooms are little suites) and a wonderful garden and view. The room standard is very high (bathrooms equipment, interiour). The hotel can be highly recommended and is one of the best hotel experiences I ever had.
One little downside was that on (the modern flatscreen) TV no english or german programme was available.
The hotel was stunning! The staff were wonderful - helpful and polite. I would highly recommend this hotel and will visit again.
This is a stunning hotel. A restored castle. Large areas for functions and only 7 bedrooms. The loungers in the shade of the back porch overlooking the ruined walls and garden shade were heaven.
It is a little out of the centre of Malaga. 15 to 20 minutes walk. There are lots of taxis about though that charge about 5 euro for the run around the maze of one-way lanes.
We liked the hotel, rooms were very spacious with a large terras. It was a pity that there were no guests in the hotel. It was very calm, It is a castle with 8 rooms. There was at this moment no activity.
A unique chance to feel yourself leaving in the real castle with great design and history and where you can expect to come across a ghost every minute) Location+view+picturesque whereabouts. Very helpful stuff.
Everything is perfect.
